Privacy policy
The short version: the calculations you perform never leave your device.
Last updated: 30 July 2026
Who is responsible for your data
This site is operated by DateAndTimeCalculator.org, which is the data controller for the personal data described below.
support@dateandtimecalculator.orgIf you have a question about how your data is handled, or want to make a request about your own data, that address is the fastest route to an answer.
What the calculators do with your input
Every calculation on this site runs entirely in your browser. The dates, times, birth dates, working hours and pay rates you enter are never sent to our servers, because there is no server-side calculation to send them to. The site is a set of static files, and the arithmetic happens on your device.
Two consequences are worth knowing:
- We cannot see what you calculated, and could not produce it if we were asked to. There is nothing to breach and nothing to disclose.
- Your inputs are placed in the page address so a result can be bookmarked or shared. If you paste that link somewhere, you are sharing those values. Worth a moment's thought on the age calculator, where the link contains a date of birth.
What is stored in your browser
A few preferences are saved in your browser's local storage so you do not have to set them again on every page: your chosen public holiday country, which days you treat as the weekend, your default time zone, and payroll rounding and overtime settings.
This stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings. No dates, times or personal details are stored. Because we never receive it, it is not personal data that we process.
Server logs
The site is hosted by a third-party provider. Like any web host, it records technical details of each request: the IP address, the browser's user agent string, the page requested and the time of the request. An IP address can be personal data, so these logs are treated as such.
They are used only to keep the site running and secure — diagnosing faults, spotting abuse, and understanding load. They are not used to build a profile of you, and they are not combined with anything else.
Questions about hosting or server logs can be sent to support@dateandtimecalculator.org.
Analytics
No analytics are currently in use. When they are introduced they will be cookieless and aggregate-only — no cookies, no persistent identifier, no cross-site tracking — so there will be nothing about them that requires your consent. This section will name the provider when that happens.
Advertising
This site is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. Unlike the analytics above, advertising does involve cookies and does require your consent.
Before any advertising script is allowed to store anything, this site instructs Google that storage, personalised advertising and the use of advertising data are all denied. Nothing changes until you make a choice in the consent message you are shown on your first visit. If you decline, you will still see adverts, but they will be non-personalised — chosen from the page's content rather than from anything about you.
The consent message is provided by Google's own certified consent platform. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page, which reopens it.
If you consent, Google may set cookies to limit how often you see the same advert, to measure whether an advert led to anything, to detect fraudulent clicks, and — if you allow it — to select adverts based on your interests. The individual cookies are listed in the cookie policy.
Google is an independent controller for the data it collects this way. Its own policies govern what it does with it:
- Google privacy policy
- How Google uses cookies in advertising
- Google My Ad Center — control the adverts Google shows you, across all sites
Why we are allowed to process this data
| What | Why | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Your calculations | Never received by us — they stay in your browser | Not applicable |
| Preferences in local storage | Remembering your country and weekend settings | Not applicable — never transmitted to us |
| Server logs | Keeping the site available, secure and working | Legitimate interests |
| Cookieless analytics | Knowing which calculators are used, in aggregate | Legitimate interests — no personal data involved |
| Advertising cookies | Funding the site | Consent |
Where your data goes
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone except the providers described above, each acting for the specific purpose named.
Google operates globally and processes advertising data outside the UK, including in the United States. Those transfers rely on the safeguards in Google's own terms — standard contractual clauses together with the UK international data transfer addendum.
We may disclose information if we are legally required to, for example in response to a valid court order. Given how little is held, there is rarely anything meaningful to disclose.
How long it is kept
Server logs are kept only as long as they are useful for security and diagnostics , then deleted by the host. Analytics figures are aggregate and contain nothing personal to delete. Advertising cookies expire on the schedule set out in the cookie policy, and you can clear them at any time from your browser.
What we never collect
- Accounts, names, email addresses or passwords — there is no sign-up.
- Payment details — nothing on this site is paid for.
- The contents of any calculation you perform.
- Health, biometric or other special category data.
- Anything you have not either typed into your own browser or sent us by email.
Children
This site is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children, and there is no mechanism by which a child could submit personal data to us.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or the EU, data protection law gives you the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection in respect of personal data held about you, and the right to withdraw consent where consent is the basis we rely on.
In practice, because there are no accounts and we receive none of your calculations, there is usually very little personal data for those rights to attach to — realistically, server logs and whatever your advertising choices caused Google to hold. Write to support@dateandtimecalculator.org and we will do what we can, which sometimes means telling you honestly that we hold nothing.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. You are entitled to do that without contacting us first, though we would rather have the chance to put it right.
Changes to this policy
Any change is reflected in the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes — in particular switching on advertising or analytics — will be announced on the site rather than made quietly.
